Government Services Business Expands with New TRICARE Program

International SOS Government Services, Inc., was awarded the new TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) contract by the Department of Defense (DOD), through the Defense Health Agency (DHA). TRICARE is the DOD’s worldwide health care program available to eligible beneficiaries from any of the seven uniformed services.
Under the contract, International SOS will deliver health care support services to U.S. active duty service members, their family members, retirees and other TRICARE-eligible beneficiaries in nearly 200 countries and territories; outside the United States and District of Columbia.
The TOP contract base period (transition-in) of performance is Sept. 1, 2015, through Aug. 31, 2016. There are five one-year option periods continuing through August 31, 2021. Total estimated value of the contract, including the base five one-year option periods and the potential six month extension is $553 million.

International SOS has provided comprehensive health care support services to TRICARE beneficiaries since 1998 under the TRICARE Global Remote Operations program and was first awarded the TOP contract in 2009. Partnering with International SOS on this contract are Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance Corporation (WPS), the incumbent overseas claims processor, and Leidos, Inc. for beneficiary education and enrollment services.
In order to ready for the start of healthcare delivery in September 2016 under the new TOP contract, transition-in discussions with International SOS and DHA are underway.
