Organisations are being advised to begin implementing their evacuation plans for non-essential staff.
Resources have been deployed from International SOS and Control Risks to neighbouring countries to support our clients, establish reception teams for possible incoming evacuees and to liaise with our approved local providers.
Fighting began in South Sudan on Sunday and violence throughout Juba is restricting movement within the capital. Members are encouraged to contact one of the 27 International SOS assistance centres if they have any concerns. • Continue to defer all travel to South Sudan.
• Any confirmed outbound flights from Juba airport are likely to be heavily oversubscribed. Do not travel to the airport unless a seat on a flight is confirmed.
• Overland movement remains difficult. Personnel should move only with a secure escort, along cleared routes, and under strict movement control procedures.
• Personnel remaining in South Sudan, including Juba, should remain in a secure location, with access to essential supplies and a robust and resilient local assistance network. If such support cannot be guaranteed, personnel should depart from South Sudan.
