International SOS Foundation wins EMMA for Best Thought Leadership
Singapore

This award was given for its publication "Global Framework: Safety, health and security for work-related travel and assignments". The criteria for winning the award includes providing leading-edge information that demonstrates a long term impact to the global mobility profession.
The Framework is an important follow-on from the Duty of Care Global Benchmarking Study, which won an EMMA award in 2011 in the Americas region.
The Global Framework is a first-of-its-kind strategic guidance for organisations to identify hazards, threats and manage risks to ensure the safety, health and security of its workers. It follows the outline and elements of the ILO’s Occupational Safety and Health Management System, a comprehensive, scientific methodology for documenting policy.
The guidance was authored by the Foundation along with 15 occupational health, safety, environment experts, medical and security directors, workplace law specialists and insurance providers from eight countries.
Laurent Fourier, Director, International SOS Foundation said:
“This award acknowledges the leadership by the foundation and its expert contributors in assembling the Global Framework, a fundamental instrument that will ultimately help put practices in place to reduce injuries and save lives. This guidance serves as a practical and usable tool to bring varied internal stakeholders together from HR, Legal, Corporate Travel to Risk Management, Health and Safety for risk prevention in a mobile workforce."

Notes to Editors
About International SOS Foundation Established in 2011, the International SOS Foundation ― Ambassadors for Duty of Care www.internationalsosfoundation.org – has the goal of improving the safety, security, health and welfare of people working abroad or on remote assignments through the study, understanding and mitigation of potential risks. The escalation of globalisation has enabled more individuals to work across borders and in unfamiliar environments; exposure to risks which can impact personal health, security and safety increases along with travel.
The Foundation is a registered charity and was started with a grant from International SOS. It is a fully independent, non-profit organisation.
