International SOS introduces TravelReady Plus

• The world’s most comprehensive business travel preparation and validation tool
• Ensures compliance with travel policies
• Automated pre-trip validation

International SOS has unveiled TravelReady Plus, an innovative automated solution that allows companies to validate their employees' travel.
It helps ensure individuals are fully prepared for their trips so that they maximise the chances of staying safe and well while travelling.

How it works
On receipt of a travel booking via an online agency, TravelReady Plus sends a customised destination or risk-specific questionnaire to the traveller. This acts as a checklist and begins the process of in-depth pre-trip preparation.  Responses are then collated and submitted to the employer.

This allows an assessment to be made by the organisation as to whether the traveller is sufficiently prepared and the trip validated.

Sarah Vincent, Information & Tracking Expert at International SOS said:

"International SOS understands that this tool can help to reduce the number of requests for assistance made by travellers. Employees are better prepared and are aware of potential travel risks. If the trip is too risky for a certain employee, and may represent a threat to their safety, TravelReady helps highlight this before departure."

Ensuring compliance with travel policies
TravelReady Plus proactively sends destination specific advice about the potential health and safety risks prior to travel. It requires the traveller to take action on receipt of this information. TravelReady Plus can help organisations ensure their duty of care obligations are being met by improving compliance and helping to monitor ‘at risk’ travel and effectively mitigate risk.

Automated pre-trip validation tool
Automating the process saves organisations time and puts the focus on reviewing responses, opening a channel of communication between the organisation and traveller and providing the final validation that all appropriate preparation has been completed. Designed to suit organisations of all sizes, TravelReady Plus perfectly complements International SOS’ TravelTracker* solution.

Andy Heeds, Head of Personnel Security, Threat Intelligence & Investigations at BT Group said:
“Integrating TravelReady with our Travel Security processes has ensured that high risk travel by BT employees is captured and monitored for compliance with our internal travel policy. We feel much more secure in the knowledge that our travellers are fully prepared and that there is an auditable process detailing the careful preparation should an incident take place during their trip”

Targeted preparation for travellers
International SOS Foundation research found that only 32% of 628 organisations surveyed conduct person/location risk assessments prior to expatriate assignments.
TravelReady Plus offers a tailored questionnaire according to the health and safety risks in a particular country. It can be linked to the preparation steps needed to be completed per destination. This may include, for example, travellers to malaria-affected countries who need to complete a malaria e-learning course and take preventive measures before departing. Equally, women who travel to countries such as Egypt or India should follow specific training for women before they depart.

TravelReady Plus has been significantly enhanced since the first version was released more than ten years ago, and it is now the most comprehensive solution on the business travel market.

When used with TravelTracker*, TravelReady Plus is the only system that is directly integrated with the travel booking and pre-trip preparation systems to provide validation and compliance to travel policies ensuring travellers are kept safe and well during their business trips.

*TravelTracker helps organisations act immediately during a critical event by identifying travellers at risk and facilitating communications with them through integrated email and optional SMS. Employers have 24/7 web-based access to a simple, aggregated view of their employees' travel.
