UK restrictions on electronic items in hand luggage from select in-bound airports

The UK government has banned large electronic devices from carry-on baggage on direct flights originating from Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia. The restriction includes laptops, cameras, e-readers and tablets and any devices exceeding 16 cm in length, 9.3 cm in width and 1.5 cm in depth, which must be checked into the hold.
The implementation deadline is 25 March, although some airlines may implement sooner and the UK government has not said how long the restrictions will be in place.
This follows the US announcement on similar restrictions from ten Middle East and North Africa locations.
We are advising travellers to pack electronic items adhering to the new restrictions and allow additional time at the affected airports for check in and security.
